That’s why Blanca Cars now accepts cash payments on delivery for eligible local car-hire bookings across the Costa Blanca North.
And we wanted to make cash payments mean something more than simply providing another payment option.
When you pay for an eligible Blanca Cars rental in cash, we will donate 1% of the total booking value to Catland Jávea, a local non-profit organisation working to improve the lives of street cats and kittens in the Jávea area.
Instead of that percentage disappearing into bank and card-processing costs, we would rather see it stay within our local community and help animals that genuinely need support.

Can You Hire a Car with Cash on the Costa Blanca?
Yes.
Blanca Cars now allows customers to pay cash when their rental vehicle is delivered to them locally within our participating Costa Blanca North delivery area.
This gives customers another choice.
You don’t have to pay for your rental using a bank card if you would rather use cash.
The concept is simple:
Book your Blanca Cars rental.
Choose an eligible local delivery.
Pay for the car hire in cash when your vehicle is delivered.
Blanca Cars donates 1% of the booking value to Catland Jávea.
You get your rental car.
A local animal charity receives additional financial support.
And more of the money associated with the transaction stays within the Costa Blanca community.
Where Is Cash Payment Available?
Cash payment is available for local Blanca Cars vehicle deliveries across the Costa Blanca North from Villajoyosa to Oliva.
This includes customers staying in many popular destinations along this part of the Costa Blanca.

Important: Cash Payment Is Not Available at Alicante or Valencia Airport
There is one important exception.
Cash payment is not supported for Alicante Airport or Valencia Airport collections.
The new cash-payment option is specifically for local vehicle deliveries on the Costa Blanca North.

Alicante Airport collection → Cash payment not available

If you are flying into Alicante or Valencia and collecting your Blanca Cars vehicle through our airport service, you will need to use one of the payment methods available for airport rentals.
If you are staying locally and having the car delivered to your accommodation, home, hotel or another approved local delivery point, you can request to pay in cash.
Why Is Blanca Cars Encouraging Cash Payments?
Every time a customer pays using a bank card, businesses generally incur payment-processing costs.
For Blanca Cars, these transaction costs are around 1% of the booking value.
Normally, that money simply becomes another business expense associated with processing the payment.
We thought there was a better alternative.
When a customer chooses cash for an eligible local delivery, Blanca Cars doesn’t have that same card transaction.
So instead of keeping the equivalent 1%, we donate 1% of the booking value to a local animal charity.
We have chosen Catland Jávea.
It means choosing cash can turn an ordinary car-hire payment into something that also contributes to the community where many of our customers are spending their holidays or living permanently.
How Much Does Blanca Cars Donate?
The donation is based on 1% of the total value of your eligible cash booking.
For example:
A €300 car rental generates a €3 donation.
A €500 car rental generates a €5 donation.
A €750 car rental generates a €7.50 donation.
A €1,000 car rental generates a €10 donation.
It costs you nothing extra.
The donation comes from Blanca Cars.
You simply choose to pay cash rather than using a bank card for your eligible local rental.
Who Is Catland Jávea?
Catland Jávea is an officially registered non-profit organisation created to improve the welfare of street cats and kittens in Jávea.
The organisation was created because Jávea did not have a dedicated cat shelter where vulnerable, injured or socialised street cats could be taken.
Catland is now building what it describes as Jávea’s first dedicated cat shelter.
When completed, the facility is intended to provide shelter and care for approximately 80 to 100 cats at a time, while helping suitable cats find permanent homes.
What Does Catland Jávea Do?
Catland’s work goes much further than simply providing somewhere for cats to stay.
Its mission includes:
- Rescuing vulnerable street cats and kittens
- Providing shelter and care
- Helping cats receive veterinary treatment
- Fostering cats that need temporary homes
- Socialising cats suitable for adoption
- Finding permanent families for rescued cats
- Supporting local Trap-Neuter-Return initiatives
- Educating the community about responsible pet ownership and animal welfare
Even before the shelter is fully operational, Catland says its volunteers have already rescued, fostered and rehomed dozens of cats.
Catland also works alongside the local Jávea Feral Cats sterilisation programme. Socialised cats that are suitable for adoption can be taken into Catland’s care rather than returning permanently to the street.
Why Does Local Support Matter?
Catland is not a large international organisation with enormous resources.
It is a local non-profit project that depends on donations, sponsors, volunteers and fundraising.
Catland states that it is independent and relies on public generosity to complete and operate the shelter. Its latest information says construction is progressing, but further funding is still required before the shelter can fully open.
That is exactly why Blanca Cars wanted our cash-payment initiative to support a local organisation.
A few euros from one booking may not sound significant.
But hundreds or thousands of local transactions can add up.
That money can contribute towards food, shelter facilities, veterinary care, equipment and the enormous amount of work required to protect vulnerable animals.
Supporting Local Businesses and Local Organisations
There is a wider principle behind the idea.
When you visit the Costa Blanca, a significant part of the experience is created by local businesses and organisations.
The local restaurant you visit.
The café where you have breakfast.
The family-run shop.
The mechanic.
The gardener.
The independent rental company.
The volunteers helping abandoned animals.
These organisations employ local people, purchase from other local companies and contribute to the communities where they operate.
We believe that whenever there is an opportunity to keep more of that economic activity local, it is worth doing.
Banks and major payment networks already process enormous volumes of transactions every day.
We would rather take the 1% we would otherwise spend on processing an eligible card payment and put the same amount towards helping a local organisation make a visible difference here on the Costa Blanca.
Does Paying Cash Make the Rental More Expensive?
No extra charity charge is added simply because you pay cash.
The 1% donation is made by Blanca Cars.
You are not being asked to add another 1% to your booking.
If your qualifying rental is €500, for example, Blanca Cars will donate €5 to Catland from the booking.
The aim is to redirect money that would otherwise be associated with the cost of processing the payment.
Do I Need a Credit Card to Hire a Blanca Cars Vehicle?
